Wellsprings for Women Inc

Wellsprings for Women Inc was founded in 1994 by Sister Ann Halpin. Our Sisters have been working in the Dandenong area since 1912 and Ann herself had worked there as Principal and Pastoral Associate for some years and saw the growing need to establish a place of welcome for women – a place to empower isolated women to live their lives more fully. Wellsprings for Women draws on the life experiences of those who gather from all parts of the world, welcomes their diversity and promotes the potential of each woman’s gifts. Women have the opportunity, in a supportive environment to access information and opportunities for life long learning and well being. Included in the program are classes to teach the English language, both formally and informally, Personal Development, Sewing, Craft, Art, Exercise and Computers. The Home Visitation Program reaches out to the isolated, often because of Language or Mental Health issues, and seeks to encourage people back into the community.
