Almost a centenarian, with her birthday approaching on 24 April, Teresita Ahearn of Presentation Sisters Queensland celebrated the 8Oth anniversary of her religious profession in February 2017. Grateful for a “privileged” teaching career spanning many decades and “more students than one could put a number on”, Sr Teresita is also remembered with fondness for her 12 years as Mistress of Novices at Manly and an educator with rural communities in Murgan and Emerald.

By Selina Venier, ‘A life devoted to God’, reveals Sr Teresita’s vocation journey – as a founding principal, upper primary teacher, Mistress of studies in the novitiate stage of formation, religious educator in rural areas, retreat coordinator  – and remaining close to her extended family in prayerful and practical support.
