Kidz4Kidz: Children Do NOT belong in Detention
Australia currently holds about 800 children in closed immigration detention for indefinite periods, including 88 children on Nauru.
The Forgotten Children’s Report found between January 2013 and March 2014 alone, there were 233 assaults in detention involving children and 33 incidents of reported sexual assault — with the majority involving children. During the same period, 128 children harmed themselves.
Students from St Martha’s School Pennant Hills have made a wonderful video called, Kidz4Kids and speak on behalf of the children in detention.
The video is a powerful reminder for all Australians, that Children do not belong in detention!
