Crafting pathways to new life

Author: admin2

Crafting Pathways  is a short video celebrating the women who come to Wellsprings for Women in Dandenong, Victoria, and the connections they create through craft.

Wellsprings for Women welcomes and supports women as they gather to learn, share and support one another and so live their lives more fully. Creative Connections through Craft is one of the programs that Wellsprings offers to empower women and foster freedom and life. It was initiated at Wellsprings in 2012 as a multicultural craft program for newly arrived refugee women offering traditional and western craft skill development as well as English language training and support services in a child friendly environment.  The fundamental strengths of CCTC are its creative art therapy approach and the intensive support provided to assist participants in articulating and following personal life goals as they settle in their new country. The project is funded by the Margaret Lawrence Bequest.

The same spirit of love and compassion that stirred Nano Nagle to action and inspired the vision of Wellsprings’ founder Anne Halpin pbvm is enlivened today by the women who gather at Wellsprings from around the world and the staff and volunteers who support and encourage them.
